D.C. League Hosts 'Day of Caring' at Children's
Hospital
The D.C. League Community Involvement Committee's Day of Caring at Children's
National Medical Center on Nov. 10 was a tremendous success. Kids being
treated at the hospital had fun playing games and coloring in books with
volunteers from District Government Employees' Federal Credit Union, Engraving
& Printing Federal Credit Union and HEW Federal Credit Union. The
volunteers also got a brief tour of the hospital and were quite impressed
with the colorful "People Helping People"-themed paintings on
the walls of the surgical waiting areas. Thanks to the following volunteers
for helping to brighten the kids' day: Jeff Goff, HEW; Annette Jones,
Engraving & Printing; Brian O'Sullivan, HEW; Donald Spears, District
Government; Sarah Turner, D.C. League; and Schamika Williams, District
Government. More here: http://www.vacul.org/news/leaguenews/dayofcaring04.htm
